The Hundred 2025: Rockets and Brave Top the Early Standings

Trent Rockets Edge Past Northern Superchargers

A 20-year-old all-rounder stole the show for Trent Rockets as they defeated Northern Superchargers by five wickets to keep their unbeaten start to The Hundred intact. Rehan Ahmed was instrumental, taking 2-23 with the ball as Superchargers were restricted to 124-9. He followed this up with a confident 31 (26) to guide Rockets to a comfortable victory with four balls remaining.

Superchargers looked poised early, removing Trent Rockets' openers Imad Wasim (3-19) and Adil Rashid (1-8) swiftly. However, Northern's batting faltered badly after Ahmed disrupted their innings, taking two wickets including captain Dan Lawrence (0). Despite a late partnership between Harry Brook (45) and Graham Clark (36), Ahmed finished the job, along with Marcus Stoinis and Adam Hose.

Earlier in the innings, Northern's powerplay was their downfall, losing three wickets for 18 runs in the powerplay alone, including Akeal Hosein's double strike. Trent Rockets' Tom Banton (37) and Joe Root (20) shared a valuable 57-run stand.

Brave Cruise Past Struggling Phoenix

Elsewhere, defending champions Southern Brave demonstrated why they are top of the table, cruising to a nine-wicket victory over the struggling Birmingham Phoenix at The County Ground, Southampton. England fast bowler Jofra Archer was the star of the show, taking 2-16 alongside New Zealand spinner Michael Bracewell (3-10) to bundle Phoenix out for just 106.

Phoenix received an early blow when Joe Clarke departed cheaply, and their total lacked any real substance. Chris Jordan and Archer led a formidable Brave bowling attack, consistently finding the edge or inducing edges throughout the match.

Brave chased down their modest target with ease, reaching the finish line with 19 balls to spare. Leus du Plooy (48*) and Jason Roy (18) led the chase after a cautious start. This victory sees Brave join the defending champions, Oval Invincibles, at the summit of the men's competition standings.

Upcoming Fixtures Announced
