Erling Haaland's Struggles in the Most Challenging Position
Manchester City's striker, Erling Haaland, is facing a tough time on the field, described by his manager as playing in "the most difficult position on the planet."
Armando Broja's stoppage-time equalizer earned Burnley a crucial 1-1 draw, extending Bournemouth's winless streak to eight Premier League matches.
A dramatic 90th-minute header from Armando Broja salvaged a 1-1 draw for Burnley against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, extending the Cherries' winless run to eight Premier League games.
Antoine Semenyo broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Josh Laurent to curl home Bournemouth's only shot on target. The hosts dominated possession but squandered numerous chances, with David Brooks and Justin Kluivert particularly wasteful in front of goal.
"It's a big punishment for us," admitted Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola. "We had enough chances to score a second and kill the game."
Burnley's persistence paid off in stoppage time when substitute Broja rose highest to meet Marcus Edwards' cross, nodding home the Clarets' sole shot on target. The goal denied Bournemouth their first league victory since October 26 and marked Burnley's first point in seven matches.
Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth):
"We're struggling with set plays. We're not a tall team and our marking needs improvement. This was the game we needed to win."
Scott Parker (Burnley):
"This is a precious point. Our young team showed tremendous spirit against significant pressure. We'll be in a fight all season."
The result leaves both teams frustrated - Bournemouth for dropping more points from a winning position, and Burnley for remaining deep in relegation trouble despite their late heroics.
