The Uganda-representing Kampala Queens have successfully made it to the semifinals of the ongoing CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers. The team, also known as the Queens of Soccer, confirmed their advancement on Thursday.

To secure their spot, Kampala Queens relied on results from other matches, as their group stage concluded on Monday. A goalless draw between Ethiopia's CBE and Burundi's Top Girls, coupled with Tanzania's JKT Queens defeating South Sudan's Yei Joint Stars, worked in favor of Kampala Queens.

The group stage standings saw Kenya Police Bullets FC top Group A with six points, Rwanda Sport leading Group B, and JKT Queens emerging as leaders in Group C. The top team from each group advanced automatically, while the best second-placed team across the three groups secured the fourth semifinal spot.

Kampala Queens, who had previously thrashed Eritrea's Denden 7-0, claimed the fourth spot. In the semifinals, they will face Rayon Sport, while Kenya Police Bullets will take on JKT Queens. Both matches are scheduled for Sunday.

The ultimate winner of the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers will represent the region at the final CAF Women's Champions League tournament in Morocco this November.
