Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has lauded the club's recent signings, including Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Liam Delap, for injecting "fresh energy" into the squad. The 26-year-old, who has become one of the team's senior figures, expressed optimism about the newcomers' potential to make a significant impact.

Speaking after Gittens' arrival from Borussia Dortmund in a £48.5 million deal, Cucurella highlighted the quality and enthusiasm the new players bring to the team. "I think this is good for Chelsea because we have new players with a lot of quality," he said. "They joined a club where we try to win every game. Hopefully, they bring good energy, the quality we know, and we try to stay with them."

Chelsea's summer spending has now exceeded £170 million, with 18-year-old attacker Estevao Willian also set to join in a £52 million move. Cucurella praised Willian's talent, stating, "I think he's a good player with a lot of talent. We want to help him in all the things that we can."

The Blues recently secured a 2-1 victory over Palmeiras in the Club World Cup semi-finals and are set to face Fluminense at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Cucurella acknowledged the challenges of frequent squad changes, saying, "At the beginning, it was difficult because football is a lot of relationships. You stay close with one teammate and then he leaves or you leave. But I think we have a good group now."

Looking ahead, Cucurella emphasized the importance of the Club World Cup campaign. "For all of us, it is very important," he said. "At this moment, we do not think about the fatigue. If we are tired, we want to enjoy this moment. It is a good opportunity to do something important, to be proud of our work, and to play for Chelsea."

Should Chelsea overcome Fluminense, they will face either Paris St-Germain or Real Madrid in the final, further cementing their ambitions on the global stage.
